Meet the Board
We are devoted to making BMES a welcoming, inclusive, and helpful organization for all Yale students involved. Read below to learn a little bit more about us!
PRESIDENT
Maddie Lamm
Maddie is a junior in Berkeley College from Atlanta, Georgia. She is majoring in biomedical engineering and is interested in a career in the medical device industry. Currently, she is involved in research on engineered heart tissues in a biomechanics lab and is working on a medical device for performing skin biopsies. Outside of BMES, Maddie plays on the Yale Club Volleyball team, is a FOOT leader, and peer tutors for physiology. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, hiking, and gardening.
VICE PRESIDENT
Aryana Ramos-Vazquez
Aryana is a junior living in Saybrook (SAY WHAT!), from Tuxedo Park, New York. She has an interest in neuroelectronic interfaces with clinical applications! Outside of YBMES, she works as a student coordinator at La Casa Cultural, Yale's Latine cultural center, and is Media Chair for Despierta Boricua, Yale's Puerto Rican student organization! She also works as a college aide for Saybrook College Office! You can also find her making music (and friends!) with the Yale Glee Club. Outside of her formal extracurricular engagements, she loves to creatively write (all the genres!), watch video essays, and stargaze on Old Campus.
TREASURER
Zeki Tan
Zeki is a senior from Manila, Philippines. He is currently conducting kidney tissue engineering research at the School of Medicine and taking electives in the Biomechanics and Biomolecular Engineering tracks. Zeki’s other activities include the Yale Logos, Christian Union, and the Yale Political Union. Zeki spends his free time taking walks around New Haven, listening to ‘70s and ‘80s pop songs, and learning ballroom dances.

Marissa Villa
Marissa Villa is a junior from Albuquerque, NM majoring in Biomedical Engineering with an interest in Biomechanics. She works under Dr. Kim Blenman researching TILs while working with instrumentation. Outside of BMES, Marissa is involved with Latina Women at Yale, SHPE, and SACNAS. She enjoys binge watching tv series, listening to music, and exploring good New Haven eats.
INDUSTRY LIAISON
William Wang
Will is a sophomore in Berkeley College from Taipei, Taiwan. As an American Chemical Society fellow, Will has a deep interest in regenerative nanomaterials and hopes to use his bioengineering knowledge to pursue a career in intellectual property litigation. In his free time, he enjoys designing clothes, playing tennis, kickboxing, and traveling around the world.
SOCIAL COORDINATOR
Chelsea Coronel
Chelsea is a sophomore in Branford College and is from New Haven, Connecticut. She is majoring in biomedical engineering and hopes to work in industry/biotechnology in the future. Outside of BMES, Chelsea spends her time working with LWAY, playing squash, hiking, baking, and hanging out with friends.

Riya Bhargava
Riya Bhargava is a junior in Morse College from Lucknow, India. She is majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Philosophy. Riya enjoys doing longevity research and playing the classical guitar.
